Terminating the drive

To terminate the ST15150W drive, enable the permanently mounted IC active terminators by installing an Enable Drive Terminator jumper on pins 11 and 12 of J4 as shown below. If you install one of these models and it is not on the end of the SCSI bus, remove the jumper to disable the permanently mounted IC terminators and thereby remove internal termination from the drive.

Terminator power

There are four possible terminator power configurations for the ST15150W drive. (see figure J01 below) You will not normally need to change this option and can leave the drive configured as it was shipped from the factory.

*	Term power from the drive.
		Jumper pins 1-2
*	Term power from SCSI bus.
		Jumper pins 2-4
	Term power to SCSI bus.
		Jumper pins 1-3
*	Term power to SCSI bus & drive.
		Jumper pins 1-3 & 2-4

* Valid for single-ended drives only.

Synchronizing spindles

Use pins 11 and 12 on the J5 connector to attach the spindle sync cable.

Additional jumper options on J5.

Remote LED connector J5 pin 9
		(top pin is negative)
		and 10(bottom pin is positive).

Additional jumper options on J4.

	Write protect on (disables writing)
		jumper pins 1-2.
	Write protect off
no jumper on pins 1-2 (default).

Disable parity check jumper pins 7-8 on J4. Enable parity check (default) no jumper on pins 7-8.

Enable motor start. The drive waits for the start Unit command from the host before starting the spindle motor jumper pins 5-6 on J4.

Disable motor start (default). The drive starts according to the Delay Motor Start option setting as described below - No jumper on J4 pins 5-6.

Motor start delay equal to the SCSI ID multiplied by 10 seconds plus 3 seconds - jumper pins 3-4 on J4.
